Joss Whedon created Firefly, a now-cancelled sci-fi-western. I don't really know what to say about a western that takes place all over the universe. The characters are well developed and almost instantly likable. The ship, Serenity, is also a character.Captain Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds heads a motley crew of people who either weren't satisfied living planet-side, or are running from the law. The fly around the 'verse doing odd jobs and crimes to keep the ship running so they can keep going.
This is the best series that was ever cancelled! The highest praise I can give it is that I own the DVD - it is part of my collection - 9 in total. Obviously, I only buy the really good ones. Movies and shows that can be watched over and over.
